How to install Oreo onto Mi A1 easily?
The installation is simple, the packages listed above are full firmware packages, often termed as Fastboot flashable zips. All you need to do is reboot into fastboot mode and flash the ROM by running a flasher.bat file.
You can select from three options. The first is without losing data. The second is erasing the data. The last one is a clean installation and relocking Bootloader.
- Make sure your PC has ADB and Fastboot drivers for Mi A1.
- Now, extract or unzip the MiA1-Tool-Flasher-Oreo.7z tool from above.
- Now, reboot your Mi A1 into Fastboot Mode. To do so, turn off your device completely and then press and hold Vol down (or up) & Power buttons at the same time.
- Now, connect Android device to PC via USB cable.
- Execute the Rom-Flasher.bat
- Select one of 3 flashing options of the popup window. (option 2 for avoid conflicts, data will be erased)
- Installation will begin.

How to Install Custom ROM onto Xiaomi Mi A1 8.1 Oreo?
Requirements:
- Unlock the device bootloader is a must. See how to unlock bootloader, root, and flash TWRP recovery o Xiaomi Mi A1.
- Need to flash the latest custom TWRP recovery, if you want to install Lineage onto Xiaomi Mi A1.
- Take full Nandroid backup of your device data from TWRP recovery before proceeding.

Installation Instructions:
Step 1: Go through the requirements and download the Lineage OS 15.1 ROM, GApps package, and Magisk zip to root from the above download section.
Step 2: Transfer all the files from PC to your Android device’s internal storage.
Step 3: It is time to install the custom TWRP on your Android device. Now, reboot to TWRP recovery. Turn of the device completely, press and hold volume (down/up) and power button.
Step 4: Perform a full wipe of the partition such as system, data, cache, etc. DO NOT wipe internal storage. Os simply perform a factory reset from TWRP.
Step 5: Tap on install option in the recovery on the home screen. Flash the LineageOS ROM.
Step 6: Similarly, flash Gapps package and Magisk zip if you want to root. It is better to flash GApps or Magisk after first successful reboot to system.
Step 7: Reboot to system.
