Caution: Downloading, installing and entering your password into an unverified non-Store app does pose a security risk. Therefore, we don't recommend doing so unless you accept the possible danger.
It is not clear if LinkedIn is planning to release this to the Store or enable the current version for Mobile download. In theory, the UWP hosted web app should work fine on Mobile, but the company is evidently doing a slow rollout of the app even for PC at first and may enable Mobile downloads later.

Linkedin has stopped supporting free video download option permanently. But, you could still download the videos with the help of https://www.keepoffline.com/. You need to just paste the URL of the video and click download. [Note: I do not officially nor by any means endorse this tool]
If you are skeptical using third-party tools, a manual way is to use 'Google Chrome developer tools' to find the video link/URL and open it in a new browser. [Need moderate technical knowledge]

Step #1. Shortlist a video from newsfeed
First, shortlist a video post that you wish to download from your desktop. Then, right click on your computer mouse to 'open video in new tab.
Step #2. Save video as...
On this new tab, select 'save video as' option from the dropdown or you will find a download button on LHS corner of the video. Click and save to your desktop in a supporting format.
